13 Nov Press Release – VISCOPIC is one of the winners of the first Future Logistics Challenge
Munich, 12nd Nov 2019. VISCOPIC wins the first Future Logistics Challenge with its approach concerning the ecosystem ‘vehicle – delivery personnel’. Together with Hermes and Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge, the start-up can now develop a proof-of-concept with a starting capital of up to €125,000.
The Future Logistics Challenge was launched by Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge and Hermes Europe with the support of the start-up accelerator betahausX. The aim of the four month competition was to develop innovative solutions for the categories “Delivery Driver Experience” and “Smart Delivery Vehicles” in order to create the best possible synergies between parcel logistics, the automotive industry and start-ups.
Start-ups from all over Europe took part in the competition and developed ideas to support the work of parcel delivery companies in Europe and to make it more efficient.
Following the development phase of the Future Logistics Challenge, VISCOPIC was chosen as one of two winners who, together with Hermes and Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge, are further developing their approaches to the ecosystem ”vehicle – delivery personnel”.
VISCOPIC’s solution approach is primarily concerned with the challenges that arise in the loading compartment of the delivery vehicle. The start-up developed an innovative approach to support delivery staff in sorting, loading and unloading parcels, thus making delivery in the end phase more efficient, structured and stress-free for the driver.
As a result of the Future Logistics Challenge, applicable solutions will now be developed which Hermes and VW Nutzfahrzeuge will test in practice in a three- to six-month pilot phase by 2020.
